Welcome to KOMETA!
KOMETA is a cultural and educational program taught in Serbian language for
children from Boston and neighboring areas. The program's mission is to teach Serbian language,
customs, history, science and culture to children ages 2-14. We hope to provide our children
with the quality program that will additionally motivate and inspire them in their efforts
to maintain our identity and cultural inheritance.
KOMETA has been in existance since 2007 as a Massachusetts not-for-profit corporation.
This young not-for-profit organization currently brings together forty children
along with parents and friends who help contribute to its success. The children's ages
range from 1-12. They are divided in five groups according to the age and the current
knowledge of Serbian language. They meet once every two weeks for three hours at a time.
KOMETA Program came into being as a result of our desire to share with our
children immense beauty of our language, warmth of our temperament, and richness
of our culture. We invite you to support us in realizing this dream as friends,
